Our Mission

We have made it our mission to provide solutions to the two greatest global challenges of our time.

.
.

1. Plastic waste

40% of the world's plastic is used for packaging. In order not to make the problem with microplastics even worse, we must avoid the unnecessary use of plastic. That is why all our materials are plastic-free and decompose in nature.

2. Climate change

CO2 accelerates climate change. To counteract this, we must reduce the CO2 content in the atmosphere. Therefore Repaq packaging contains only natural and renewable raw materials.

What does Zero Waste stand for?

.

"The conservation of all resources by means of responsible production, consumption, reuse and recovery of products, packaging, and materials without burning and with no discharges to land, water, or air that threaten the environment or human health.".

Repaq is Zero Waste

.

For millions of years, nature has been showing us how to handle raw materials: Composting is a natural cycle.

The only one with consistent quality and 100% return.

All Repaq packaging is 100% compostable.

Recycled plastic, with the exception of PET, is not approved for contact with food for hygienic reasons. The quality is constantly decreasing and at the end of the process the material is incinerated. And the rest has to be disposed of as hazardous waste. This is out of the question for us.

Natural cycles

Compost cycles and their differences

.

Repaq Circle biological. The natural biological cycle follows the example of nature and is completely self-sufficient in its decomposition. It is the most sustainable cycle that we humans can imitate. All approved materials can also be composted industrially.

Repaq Circle industrial. The industrial biological cycle basically corresponds to the natural biological cycle. To accelerate decomposition, energy is added to the composting process. If it is green energy, this cycle is a useful addition to our disposal options.

.
.

Recycling does not solve the problems, but is the best option for the mass of plastic already produced.

Plastic waste

Facts and figures

.

8.300.000.000 tons of plastic

have been produced worldwide during the last 70 years. This corresponds to a chain of elephants that reaches 200,000 times around the earth.

One debit card per week

On average, we consume five grams of plastic per week with our food.

79 % still hidden somewhere

Of 8.3 billion tons of plastic, only 9% was recycled and 12% incinerated. The rest is scattered in our habitats, slowly turning into microplastics and returning to us through our food.

Recycled plastic is not approved for contact with food because of the many additives and harmful substances.

.
.

Climate Change

The second major challenge is caused by the vast amounts of CO2 that we permanently blow into the atmosphere.

.

Fossil raw materials

We have to end the extraction of fossil fuels. All Repaq raw materials are natural, renewable and thus keep our CO2 in balance.

CO2-neutral packaging

One hand washes the other: Trees bind CO2 and supply us with cellulose. During composting, our packaging decomposes in turn into water, CO2 and biomass. This makes Repaq CO2-neutral!

Paris climate goals

We are actively working to achieve the Paris climate targets: We replace plastic, leave the oil in the soil and are CO2 neutral.
